The word in folio 75v is in the fourth paragraph, 3rd line, first word “avia.” There are multiple meanings to the word “avia” in Latin; the authors use all the meanings together (grandmother, groundsel, and remote) both visually and in the text. The ethnobotany use of the word is the ever-growing yellow weed flower from the British Isle’s the groundsel. In folklore, where the groundsel grows, a witch has urinated. When looking at this page now, all I see is women peeing (I’m dying.) The groundsel in olden times was also used as a counter-charm against witchcraft, and its roots were used against their evil eye.
