Perhaps the most mysterious place on Earth is Easter Island, scattered with stone statues of men, as archeologists have scrupulously examined the question, why? These statues have long held our amusement with theories running wide and deep like the Voynich Manuscript. The longest-running theory is that the statues were ancestral chiefs to which the islanders paid homage. That never sat well with me, there are at least a thousand of them and the islanders didn’t get there until 1200 AD. there wouldn’t have been a thousand chiefs to pay homage, the math ain’t mathing. The Voynich Authors however give a different reason for the boulder statues.
The boulder statues called Moai were constructed out of volcanic tuff and have deeply set eyes. The eyes are what the authors of the Voynich describe throughout the folio – its black obsidian orb eyes surrounded by white shells. Interestingly, in our research, the white shells bioluminescence can be seen approx. 2 miles away at night. The horizon at sea level height is 3 miles. Were the authors of the Voynich using the Moai statues as shore beacons? Did the Moai eyes work in connection to the Voynich author’s optical device? Why are Voynich character glyphs in the Rongorongo script? Is there a connection? Today I don’t know, but it raises my curiosity to find out, someday.
The authors choose to hide Easter Island in the Quire’s 1-8. The Map in this region Folio 53r, is mostly red, which means don’t do that, don’t go there. There is a few locations on the map that are green. Which never made sense to me until I translated 81v. The green on the page is exactly the cross sections of Easter Island and the map of 81v is the only way to get there. If you followed the map of 53r a sea captain would get lost and most likely die of bitter cold and/or starvation. Once you follow the instruction of 81v and overlay them on top of 53r you can quickly and easily find your way onto Easter Island.
